  • Quinte Community Forest Carbon Project | LivClean

< Back Project Name Ontario About the Project The Great Bear Forest Carbon Project covers more than 14 million acres in British Columbia and is home to the largest remaining intact coastal temperate rainforest in the world. The project aims to increase carbon capture and storage through improved forest management practices that balance timber harvesting with the overall health of the forest in an ecosystem based management regime. Forests that were previously available for logging are now protected cultural heritage sites, thereby preserving existing carbon stocks, reducing emissions caused by harvesting, road building and other forestry operations, and increasing the carbon stocks as the forest continues to grow. In addition to sequestering carbon, this unique landscape protects the habitats of many species that cannot be found anywhere else on the planet, such as the Kermode bear—fully white black bears that hold a prominent place in the oral histories of the indigenous peoples who live in the project area. The project also protects the Western Red Cedar, which is known as the “Tree of Life” and preserves important coastal and fresh water habitats for marine life. The Great Bear Rainforest project is a landmark project in Canada and represents the first project in North America on First Nation territory with unextinguished land rights and title. Great Bear balances human wellbeing with the improved management of the land, distributing carbon credit revenue among the Coastal First Nations group, a groundbreaking organization that brings together the 9 First Nation communities who inhabit the area. The Firm uses a leading ERP application which allows them to manage their Emissions Data for Scope 1 and 2 however everything else is done manually or with the use of external consultants. Some of the biggest challenges the firm was facing was not being able to conduct What If Scenarios and Net Zero Simulations along with Scope 3 Emissions Management, Social and Governance Metrics. The Sustainext solution After a thorough Evaluation of the existing ERP Application, we recommended that it is best to switch over to the Sustainext application completely as the entire Emissions Management for all Scopes (1,2 and 3) can be seamlessly handled on a single platform along with Reporting capabilities based on the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. In addition to Emissions, the firm is also able to track all other Environmental Metrics along with Social, and Governance which are based on the GRI Framework that the client reports to. • Darkwoods British Columbia | LivClean | Forest Conservation for Carbon Capture

~SOLD OUT~ FOREST CONSERVATION British Columbia Our BC Forest Conservation Project aims to increase carbon capture by protecting areas of existing mature mountain temperate coniferous forests from threats of timber logging operations and real estate and road development, as well as implementing practices that balance the overall health of the ecosystem and protect from fire. Located within the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa First Nation privately owned lands, the project area covers 135,394 acres of Mountain Interior forest in south-eastern British Columbia, just north of the Idaho/Washington state borders and along the shores of Kootney Lake. In addition to carbon capture and storage, the project provides important forest habitat for at least 19 species at risk, including an endangered herd of mountain caribou, an isolated population of ‘red listed’ grizzly, wolverine and bull trout as well as many other native species animals, fish and birds. The project also preserves important freshwater systems throughout the South Selkirk Mountains. Public permitted access offers recreational opportunities for locals and visitors, as well as local First Nation use. 100% TRANSPARENCY GUARANTEED The project's carbon offsets are ex-post credits with 100-year permanence protection backstopped by the VCS buffer pool. The project follows the VCS standards for woodland preservation, is third party verified to ISO 14064-2 guidelines, follows the six principles of Carbon offset projects and is tracked on the VERRA third-party public carbon-reduction registry. The project has also been validated under the Climate, Community and Biodiversity (CCB) standard, and received a Gold Level certification for Exceptional Biodiversity Benefits. • Australian Gold Exploration Company | LivClean

< Back Australian Gold Exploration Company Publicly traded mining company required to report ESG Performance as part of the Ongoing Investor Requirement of ASX. Client Overview Our Client is an Australian Gold Exploration Company. They operate four exploration projects across the States of Victoria and Queensland. The Company has an active ESG program which is constantly being developed. The firm is a Member of the Minerals Council of Australia and abide by its policies, including its Water Policy and Towards Sustainable Mining. TSM is an award-winning accountability framework which helps mineral companies evaluate, manage, and communicate their Sustainability Performance. Client's ESG challenges As a Listed entity on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), our client is required to disclose its ESG Performance as part of the Ongoing Investor Requirement. While the Business has in place several Policies and Procedures around ESG, EHS, including a very comprehensive Indigenous Policy, they had not made any significant progress around actively measuring and managing their ESG Metrics. One of the key challenges was the use of Manual Spreadsheets to track their Scope 1 and 2 Emissions however due to certain investor requirements, they were asked to report on other ESG Metrics which also included Scope 3 emissions for certain categories and other Environmental metrics such as Water, Waste, Air Quality etc and doing this manually was proving to be very challenging due to the scattered data and manual processes and managing everything on spreadsheets which was leading to significant delays and lack of accuracy. While the client does have a Dedicated Sustainability Head, there was no one else in the team to maintain and verify the collected data from different departments and this was leading to delays and lack of accuracy combined with limited sustainability domain expertise. The Sustainext solution Sustainext identified all the gaps in the current systems and processes and proposed using its Platform with In-built Consulting support to automate their data collection process and standardize the entire data management system and reporting process. Sustainext's comprehensive Emissions module with over 70,000 emission factors allows the client to maintain accurate and scientifically vetted data which is Audit ready. In addition to Emissions Data, Sustainext is also a GRI Certified Software Provider which makes ESG reporting and Compliance a breeze. In addition to deploying the Platform, Sustainext also conducted a Materiality Assessment and a detailed Net Zero Workshop for the Client to help them streamline internal processes and define roles and responsibilities clearly. This has also led to increased Employee Engagement within the Organization. The outcome The Client can now view their data in real time and generate reports based on various stakeholder requirements with a single click. By leveraging Sustainext's Platform and Consulting support, the Client can validate information and optimize their sustainability goals and objectives without having to invest in additional resources.
